HBREA - November 2018 Annual Membership Meeting

The Houston Black Real Estate Association will have their HBREA Annual Meeting on November 27, 2018 at 10:00 am at the Amegy Bank Tower, 1717 West Loop South, 9th floor, Houston, TX 77027.

The most important part of the Annual Meeting is the election of 3 new Director’s, this is accomplished by vetting candidates, then presenting them to the current leadership and membership for an official vote and election. In addition, other HBREA Business may be discussed with the membership body and current leadership.

*Three (3) Board of Directors of HBREA shall be elected for a (3) three year term by the financial members entitled to vote in the local chapter and shall be certified by the Nominating committee of HBREA and approved by the HBREA Board of Directors.

The Nomination Committee, has submitted the following candidates for 2019 – 2021 Board of Directors terms:

Bobbye Mills, Broker/Owner Summit Properties, BJ Mills

Melinda Dightman, Broker Associate Exit 360

Ramonica Caldwell, Broker/Owner Ramonica Caldwell Real Estate Group, LLC

In addition, the HBREA Constitution and By-Laws has provisions for candidates to be offered from the floor at the HBREA Annual Meeting by financial members of HBREA. However, please note the qualifications below must be met and if they are successfully selected they will need to be properly vetted (interviewed) by the Nomination Committee before their election becomes official.

Board of Directors - Qualified Candidates:

Must be a licensed Real Estate Broker (Active or Inactive status)

Must be a good standing member of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB) and HBREA Chapter (means financial membership status)

Prospective Board Member should have participated in the last 2 to 3 years as committee members, HBREA Event participants and/or vendors, attended at least 2 TAREB or NAREB conferences; allowing for familiarity of the current HBREA Board’s direction and planning to properly allow for plans and initiatives to be completed and/or expanded; also to discern the level of community commitment to outreach, education, and funding of HBREA activities.
